There have been a lot of changes during the past 55 years, and PMCU has changed with the times.

Today PMCU has more than 73,000 members worldwide, with ten branch locations and international ATM access.

PMCU is a not-for-profit organization owned and controlled by its members. As a not-for-profit cooperative, all profits are returned to our members in the form of services, lower interest rates on loans, and higher earnings on savings and investments.

Pacific Marine Credit Union and the City of San Marcos continues the tradition of providing a more unified and beautified neighborhood as part of an annual community outreach project.

You are invited to participate as we hold our sixth annual Volunteer Improvement Beautification Event (VIBE) on Saturday, September 27th from 8 am to 3 pm. The VIBE program revitalizes a series of homes in a local San Marcos neighborhood and is crowned with the installation of a California Native Victorian Garden at Walnut Grove Park.

Landscape designer Greg Rubin, the San Marcos Historical Society, Vallecitos Water District and United We Paint have developed a landscape design to complement two existing historical homes at Walnut Grove Park. 

The design elements include an educationally themed California native garden containing a gazebo and multiple benches constructed of recycled materials.  Additional materials include native trees and plantings known for their fire-retardant and water conserving qualities.

You can help construct the garden during the one-day VIBE event along with the other home maintenance projects planned throughout the day. 

You are encouraged to register early.  

The City provides all volunteers with a breakfast snack, beverages, lunch, music, an official volunteer t-shirt, volunteer certificate and pictures.  Last year’s event attracted a record number 450 volunteers.
